NaNoWriMo... Whenever!
(The following is the link to the real NaNoWriMo Website)
One function of this blog is to provide a safe haven for those of us who will be doing NaNoWriMo in January (or whenever!).
NaNoWriMo was established by Chris Baty, author of No Plot? No Problem! The goal of NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month, is for participants to write a 50,000 word novel within the thirty- day time frame of November. However, as innovative, unique teens, we will be doing NaNoWriMo whenever we feel like it. We will have discussions online, on our forum, and maybe over private methods (such as email) as we go through our selected months.
However, it is necessary to include a warning on this page: NaNoWriMo is known to be extremely difficult and, at times, burdensome. While writing the approximate 1,667 words a day, a writer may feel exhausted, bored, and frustrated, among other negative emotions that may discourage him/her from the project. The best advice we are able to give is not to give up. In No Plot? No Problem, Baty gives a multitude of focusing tips and techniques designed to help you through the writing month; however, unlike other writing books, it does not provide writing exercises, information on how to write well, or thought- provoking material. It simply is a book on how to survive NaNoWriMo. For a list of good writing resources, please view the Writing Resources Page)
